GOING FOR BROKE

Indulge me. I'm going to share with you what has been consuming my mind for the past few days.

For years I have been telling Erik that our next big trip is to Europe, but then things keep happening or other opportunities arise and we don't make it.

Well... it has happened again... Italy will have to wait another 10 years. My sister and brother-in-law are going to Tonga for a week in September and we're going with them! Woo-hoo! I bought the tickets yesterday and I can't wait.

Fafa Island Resort, Tonga

Since we didn't want to fly all the way down there and just see Tonga, we're going to the South Island of New Zealand for a week also!

Milford Sound, New Zealand

And, YES, everything better look exactly like these two pictures or I am going to be really mad. Oh, and did I mention we're going without the kids? It's so wonderful and expensive that this might have to be how we celebrate our 8th, 9th, and 10th wedding anniversaries and every holiday in between, but that's okay.

Only 6 and a half more months to go....

  1. How exciting! Hopefully we will make it to Australia one day, my aunt lives there now and to save $ we would stay with her...now if I can only convince Spencer to fork out the $ for the flight! I am excited for your posts when you get back from this trip!

  8. OH MY GOSH!!!!!! That's so exciting! No Europe is no good, but you're making up for it with NZ.

    Sweet, sweet, sweet.

I've been trying to squelch the travel bug lately, until we're more out of debt, but hearing about this trip is not making it easy.

  10. Hey, you have been to Europe before, right? If you look at a world map, there are sooo many more places that need visited than Europe. Europe can wait. . .
