HE'S HOME

Erik had a really, really bad day at work today. You can read about it here. He was right there when it happened, and miraculously, not injured at all. They run tests all the time and I've never thought of his job as being dangerous, until today. It kind of shocks my system to think that my husband was just yards away from dying. Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know he's safe.

  1. We are glad to hear that Erik is alright. Our prayers go out to those who lost loved ones in the explosion. I never thought that Erik's job was so dangerous either.

  4. That is really quite frightening. Glad to hear he's safe. So sad to think about the families of those other three people. I hate things like this.

  7. Oh my gosh, it's a conspiracy!!! I have been watching "24" on DVD with all my family (hour after hour of this must-see...it's a bit absurd). Anyway, I am really sorry to hear about that, but glad your husband is okay. Jack Bauer would not stand for this...

  10. I'm thankful for tender mercies from our Heavenly Father! I keep thinking how different our lives could have been today if Erik hadn't chose to video tape and move back a little. I love you, Erik! I'm so thankful you are alright and still with us. I have offered several prayers last night and today of gratitude and in behalf of those who were hurt or had loved ones killed. Also, that you will be okay mentally and emotionally as you keep remembering what you experienced.

  11. Cristin, I'm not even sure if you'll remember me, but this is Erik's friend Shelley from High School, and just heard about Erik's near-miss. I don't have his email, but wanted to find a way to pass on the Thompson family's best wishes, and let you guys know that we're thinking of you. I'm so relieved that Erik was uninjured.

While I'm at it (I haven't actually spoken to Erik in years, how sad!), congrats on your little one. He's gorgeous and is a lucky little guy to have you and Erik as his parents.
