SAFE BABY HANDLING TIPS 2

Remember this post? I would like to amend it with this picture:

Is it just mine or are all husbands super rough with the baby? Erik thinks Luke is smiling in this picture, but I see fear in his eyes!

  1. This is soo funny! Luke looks so prepared to land! This picture reminds me of the show "heroes". Luke looks like japinese anime with his hair all spikey and that pose!

  4. haha! I still get tears in my eyes from laughing when I think about that book! I'm so glad you've found such good use for it, I LOVE the pictures. And you're right, the new picture does it more justice. But Larry and I are a little sad that you didn't do the best ones...waking baby with the airhorn, calming baby with booze, sleeping baby in dresser drawer, and shopping with baby at the bottom of groceries are our favorites...we want to see if you guys do THOSE things right

  5. PS The other day I felt terrible because I was playing with Leyna too rough...I hate to admit it but we were waiting FOREVER at the doctors and I was trying to destract her by playing around with her...well, I flipped her upside down and suddenly mashed up cheerio's came out of her nose and she kept sneezing more up after that. And it must've been uncomfortable cause she was not happy about it. I felt SO awful, and when the doctor came in I asked him if she was ok, and he said that he's sure most dad's do much worse to their kids and she seemed fine. Thank you Erik for case in point, I now feel better about my own parenting. :)

  8. My brother just came to visit, and he does similar things. His stepson (at age 5) loved to get "rocket rides" from my brother. Basically my brother would push his son with his feet into the couch. He did that to me, too, as a kid, but I felt I got more whiplash than an adrenaline rush.

  9. How funny! Luke looks like he loves it. If he's a little slow when he starts school you now have photographic evidence of the cause.

Zach is so rough with Hayden. Maybe that's why a former nursery leader of Hayden's said that after teaching him she never wanted to have a son. HA - and her first child was a boy!

  10. Wow, Luke was catching some major air!! Kind of reminds me of the way a flying squirrel looks with his arms out like that! I hope Zack isn't getting any ideas!

  11. Hey Erik,

I am with you...Throwing children in the air is a wonderful thing. Luke had no fear in those eyes, it's called "fricking elation"

  12. Cristin, I showed this to my husband because he is ALWAYS throwing our children in the air. He said, "I don't see fear, I see fun! That looks cool!" However, I know exactly what you are seeing in Luke's eyes...I see it with my own children daily :)
