WHAT THE ... ?

I am still in shock. I was vacuuming the living room while Luke was taking a nap this afternoon, when suddenly I see him walking around the corner, waving his arms and laughing. HE CLIMBED OUT OF HIS CRIB ALL BY HIMSELF!! Oh my goodness. He seems okay, no bruises... maybe he's bleeding internally? I don't how much more I can lower that thing. Any suggestions?

You need to put a hidden camera in his room! That would make a great movie!

Sounds like someone is ready for a big boy bed

Get rid of the crib and move him into your bed. That's what we did with you and your sisters. Of course after your mom read the book "The Family Bed" that helped with the decision.

Luke is so advanced - what a creative lad.

I've seen crib nets before. They work too. Just tell him it's there to keep the bugs out.

I found your blog from Nancee's. Wow! I bet that was just slightly startling...to say the least. I have two. I wonder if they'll be plotting with each other on how to get out of bed. :)

I have never used the crib net method, but I've heard they work great. I think they would freak my kids out. Lowering the crib will probably help...at least temporarily. You could do what my mother-in-law did, put boobie traps all around the house to make noise and wake her up when one of her toddlers escaped. Looks like Luke will be in a big boy bed before you know it.

All I can say is good luck. It took us a good year when Jackson started climbing out of his bed to get him used to his toddler bed.

Ok, so you jinxed me. Owen fell out of his crib tonight...obviously I'm no expert on this subject.

Yeah, take a sedative and relax. This is typical little kid behavior. You'll get used to it as you have more, and more, and more children.
